My Precious Four Daughters (我的寶貝四千金) to Follow After Love Cheque Charge

The daughters of the upcoming SETTV daily drama, My Precious Four Daughters (Unofficial English Title) (我的寶貝四千金) attended the drama’s press conference earlier today. Jennifer Hong (Fabulous 30) will play as the eldest sister, Joanne Tseng (True Love 365) as the second sister, Albee Huang (Fabulous 30) as the middle one and Beatrice Fang (Fall In Love With Me) as the youngest. Rumors are saying that Xiu Jie Kai (Marry or Not) will be romancing Jennifer Hong who plays a divorced mother, Melvin Sia (The Way We Were) to romance Joanne Tseng and Jack Lee (Fall in Love with Me) to reunite with Beatrice Fang.

Melvin Sia will play as a lawyer with a complicated mafia family background, while Joanne Tseng will play as a kindergarten teacher, a modest girl who holds a simple outlook on life. Jack Lee will be romancing Beatrice Fang who plays as a college girl in the drama, they will portray a couple with huge age gap as Jack Lee’s character is the so-called “handsome uncle”. Albee Huang will play as a woman who fell in love with the wrong person, the mistress of a married man.

The cast seems quite fitting and I’m excited to see more of Melvin Sia, he showed great potential in The Way We Were (16個夏天) and this will be his first participation in an SETTV production. This drama also marks as Joanne Tseng’s comeback to dramaland after more than 1 year of hiatus. Truthfully, I can’t really picture them together as a couple yet so I’ll leave my judgement about them until I see the teasers and trailers. We’ll be getting a lot of Melvin Sia on screen lately as he’s also the second male lead in the upcoming TVBS production, Boysitter (摩女搶頭婚). He’s such a workaholic.

Jennifer Hong and Albee Huang showed fabulous chemistry as best friends in Fabulous 30 (女人30情定水舞間) so I’m hoping they’ll bring their awesome energy to this drama as real sisters. However, I feel that they are typecasted in this drama, Albee played as the third wheel in Love Me or Leave Me (我租了一個情人) and Jennifer Hong have just recently played as a divorced mother in Fabulous 30. I hope their characters will have distinct difference from their previous roles as it will be hard to not associate them with their previous characters.

Also, it seems that the SETTV producers have been paying attention to gossip tabloids as the loveline between Jeniffer Hong and Xiu Jie Kai reminds me of his real life story – noona-romance with divorced mother, veteran actress, Alyssa Chia, I wish best of luck to Xiu Jie Kai. Well, to be exact…his real life story also reminds me of him and Tian Xin (A Good Wife) from their drama, Marry or Not (結婚好嗎). Beatrice Fang was pretty decent as the naive college girl in Kiss Me, Mom! (媽親一下) and words are saying that she did great as the bitchy villain in Fall In Love With Me (愛上兩個我), it shows that she’s pretty versatile. I’ve seen Jack Lee him in Love Family (有愛一家人) and Bling Days (閃亮的日子) and he’s pretty solid so I think I have no worries about the acting of this large cast.

My Precious Four Daughters is slated to follow after Love Cheque Charge (幸福兌換劵) and premiere on December 10th. Based on the traditions of 8pm SETTV daily dramas, I’m predicting it will have around 70 episodes. As long as the drama stays lighthearted and not go down the drain, 70 episodes is possible (see Fabulous 30 for example).

I’m really liking Joanne Tseng’s red lipstick, she look super gorgeous and Beatrice Fang is looking so fresh and youthful.
